It is the last remaining intact survivor of Butte's Historic Red-Light district.
In the 1970s, The Dumas was listed on the National Register of Historic Places where it remains listed as an active "bordello".
The Dumas is now a museum offering tours of the historic brothel during the months of May through September (construction permitting).
THE DUMAS HAS NEW OWNERS!
Travis Eskelsen & Michael Piche purchased the Dumas in June of 2012. Our top priority is to preserve, restore, and protect the 123 year old Historic Landmark from further deterioration. In February of 2013, we paid all of the delinquent taxes on the Dumas! For updates concerning all things relating to the Dumas, like us on Facebook! Thank you! ~Michael & Travis.
